Audience
The closing conference of EFCOVAL is open for people interested in the results of EFCOVAL, from international and national organizations in nutrition and health, including authorities, industry and science. In particular, potential users of the EPIC-SOFT program, including policymakers, representatives from governmental and scientific organizations in public health and nutrition are invited to attend the conference. The closing conference can handle a maximum of 200 visitors.
Workshop
In the two days preceding the closing conference, on 7 and 8 September 2009, a workshop on Pan-European Food Consumption Surveys - for Standardized and Comparable Transnational Data Collection will be held for a limited number of participants. This workshop will take place in Polman's Huis - Utrecht. Because a maximum of 50 participants is allowed for the workshop, you are asked to register your intention to attend and send a motivation why you want/should attend. If the maximum number is exceeded the organizing committee will make a selection.

Conference Programme
The two-day programme of the closing conference is divided in 5 plenary sessions:

During coffee/ tea breaks and during lunchtime there will be poster sessions.
Social Programme
On the evening of 9 September 2009, a social event and dinner will be held in a typical Dutch environment,within walking distance from the venue of the closing conference. Dinner costs 40 euro.
Call for Abstracts
All visitors of the closing conference are encouraged to submit an abstract for a poster presentation. Submission is now closed.
Abstracts received later than the deadline will not be considered. Abstracts that do not comply with the instructions below will be returned to the author.
Acceptance:
The organizing committee will give preference to those abstracts most closely related to the topics of the meeting. They will consider the quality of the communication in terms of its relevance to nutritional science, the substance of its results, its originality and whether the research is current.
Please check your abstract very carefully for its accuracy, use of English and for any spelling errors before submitting it online.
Instructions for abstract submission:
- Format: Microsoft Word or compatible software
- Language: All abstracts must be in English.
- Title: Arial 17 bold - paragraph centered
- Authors: Arial 11 - paragraph centered e.g. Moreno L1, Matthys C2, Name2,3 ,Name4
- Text: Arial 11 - paragraph justified
- Affiliation: In footer, arial 9 - paragraph left
- Page margins: Top and bottom 3 cm, left and right 2.5 cm.
- Structure: Objective/s, Methods, Results and Conclusions
- Size: The body of the abstract is restricted to 300 words (without title, authors and institutions). Arial 11 should be used and it may not contain any tables or graphs.
Limitations: The submission of more than one abstract as first author is not allowed. However, an author can be co-author in other abstracts.

Criteria for posters:
If your abstract has been accepted for a poster presentation, your poster should be portrait and the size of the poster should not exceed 147 cm in height and 97 cm in width. Furthermore, there are no specific criteria, but mind the readability, also from a short distance. There will be place for 30 posters on each conference day, therefore your poster will be shown either 9 or 10 September. In this way, there will be place for 60 posters.
