The European Food Consumption Validation study (EFCOVAL) is devoted to the development and validation of a pan-European food consumption survey instrument, designed to evaluate the intake of not only foods and nutrients, but also potentially hazardous chemicals in the European population.

EFCOVAL started in 2006 and ends September 2009. In order to disseminate the results of the EFCOVAL project to the outside world and to discuss its applicability for pan-European dietary monitoring, a closing conference will be held on 9-10 September 2009 in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The closing conference of EFCOVAL is open for people interested in the results of EFCOVAL, from international and national organizations in nutrition and health, including authorities, industry and science. In particular, potential users of the EPIC-SOFT program, including policymakers, representatives from governmental and scientific organizations in public health and nutrition are invited to attend the conference.
